Long-time Damien Athletic Director Tom Carroll retired from his 38 years of service last June. In tribute to the many ways Tom has served our community we are hosting a celebration of 38 Years with Coach Carroll this Sunday, March 9, 2014 from noon to 4 pm. All are invited; please RSVP this week.

Damien's first-ever college tour opportunity will take place June 2 - 6, 2014. The tour of west coast colleges will be conducted through EF Explore America. This trip is an excellent opportunity for your son to see a wide range of schools and help him discover what kind of school will be the right fit for him. The trip includes hotel accommodations, all ground transportation, sightseeing activities, gratuities, breakfast, lunch & dinner daily, overnight hotel security and a 24 hour tour director. The first payment is due by March 1st, and space is limited. Students may pick-up a tour enrollment form from Ms. Rutter in the Counseling Office.

The 2014 wrestling season is underway as the Spartans take to the mat for a Sierra League title and a CIF appearance. Check out the 2014 highlight video which profiles this year's squad.

On Thursday evening, January 16 Damien High School will welcome Abigail James, Ph.D., a world-renowned teacher, expert on gender-based learning, and author of Teaching the Male Brain: How Boys Think, Feel & Learn in School. Her discussion topics will include: How boys’ brain development affects learning and behavior; How boys’ schools help students respect their own learning strengths; Strategies for helping your son overcome learning stumbling blocks; Working with your child’s teachers to optimize learning. The event will be held in the Damien Activity Center at 7:00pm. All current and potential Damien families are invited.
